As they say, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. So of course, you don't want to make any mistakes in choosing a restaurant. I hope this rundown helps you make the right decision. Most of the options are specific to a certain geographical area (where I live). And chain restaurants aren't ranked as a whole entity, but only individually.

Review for:
Hillcrest, San Diego, CA "Brians'" |
| From morning breakfast to late night munchies, Bryans' has whatever you're looking for. Easily accessible from the highway, one can swing by for a quick late night bite on any trek home from the downtown bars. The owners - Brian Savage and Brian Stout - have done a great job keeping a Hillcrest landmark in place, as they transitioned it from the prior "Topsey's". It has an authentic diner feel undiminished with time. |

Review for:
Pacific Beach, San Diego, CA "Green Flash" |
| So what exactly IS the "green flash"? Legend has it that sometimes during a brilliant sunset, you can see a bright green light just as the sun dips beneath the horizon. Many locals speak of the legend, but guaranteed you'll never talk to anyone who's ever seen the flash personally. But one thing you can count on from the locals is insight to the best dining establishments. And you'll hear plenty of folks talking about The Green Flash. |

Review for:
Mission Beach, San Diego, CA "Mission Cafe" |
| Would you take a 20 minute drive in order to find a great breakfast? Well, here's your chance. Except that you're not really driving - more just looking for a parking spot. But, trust me, it's worth it. Great selection. Authentic cuisine. Soothing environment. You won't be disappointed. |
